Golghar
This beehive shaped structure is located to the west of the Gandhi Maidan and is one of the famous landmarks of Patna. It was made as a granary to store the food grains after the great famine of 1770 AD. The construction of Golghar was completed on July 20, 1786, by Captain John Garstin, an engineer working with the British East India Company. The base of this masterpiece measures approximately 125 m in width and has a dual spiral stairway that leads to the top of the building, offering a picturesque view of the city. The height of this structure is 29 m.
Har Mandir Takht is one of the prominent religious places in Patna, built by Maharaja Ranjit Singh (1780-1839), the first Maharaja of the Sikh Empire. The tenth and the last Guru of Sikh, Guru Gobind Singh was born here and it is one of the only five Takhts (Holy Seats of Authority) of Sikhism. The gurudwara has a very high place in Sikh religion and people across the countries visit here to pay homage to the last Guru. Built with white marbles and having fine graving on them, this piece of monuments has a great artistic view. The sanctity, peace, worships and historical values adds aura to this holy place. The Gurudwara also houses a museum in which some relics of Guru Gobind Singh, like sword, arrows, sandals, Cradle and Hukamnamas, can be seen.

Shaheed Smarak
The Martyr's Memorial, also known as Shaheed Smarak, is a life-size statue of seven young men who sacrificed their lives in the Quit India Movement (August 1942), to hoist the national flag on the (now) Secretariat building. The foundation stone of Martyr's Memorial was laid on 15 August 1947, by the governor of Bihar, Mr. Jairam Das Daulatram. The sculptor Deviprasad Roychoudhury built the bronze statue of the seven students with the national flag. These statues were cast in Italy and later placed here.
The Bihar Museum’s collection comprises of art objects (stone and bronze sculpture, miniature paintings and thangkas), prehistoric objects, anthropological artefacts and social history objects. The permanent collection galleries of the Bihar Museum have two basic components – the history galleries and the art gallery. The Museum’s collection of artefacts and artworks on exhibit tell the story of ancient Pataliputra and Bihar from earliest times to the 18th century. The Bihar Museum is the official repository of pre-1800 archaeological finds within the state and all future notable archaeological finds will be stored here.
The vision for the new Museum is to be a world-class showcase for the ancient history and heritage of the lands now known as Bihar. It will be a destination for resident Biharis and also for domestic and international tourists alike.

Buddha Memorial Park
Buddha Memorial Park also known as Buddha Smriti Park has been developed by the Bihar Government to commemorate the 2554th birth anniversary of the Buddha. This park was inaugurated by the Tibetan spiritual leader, Dalai Lama, on 27 May 2010 who planted two saplings one was brought from Bodh Gaya and the other from Anuradhapura in Sri Lanka of the sacred Bodhi tree.
The central attraction of this park is the Stupa, known as Patliputra Karuna Stupa, 200 feet high, situated in the middle of the park. This 22 acre park is located in the heart of city and house the pot containing holy ashes of Buddha inside the main stupa. The park have a museum, where Buddhist relics from Japan, Myanmar, South Korea, Sri Lanka and Thailand have been installed.
Rajdhani Vatika better known as Ecological Park or Eco Park, is perhaps one of the biggest parks located in the heart of any city. The park is spread over 9.18 hectares of land, has 1,445 metres of pathway, a children's corner and 1,191 metre jogging track. The park is full of green areas with more than 3,000 varieties of plants, and has two large sections. The first section has a children corner, food court, and several fountains. The second part has theme parks like Rashi Van, Guru Vatika, Panchwati and Kewli Van. In the second section of Eco Park, there exists a restaurant and a lake with boat rides for visitors. Both the sections in Eco Park are interconnected through an underground tunnel.

Vishwa Shanti Stupa
Vaishali is where Buddha preached his last sermon before his death. Vishwa Shanti Stupa (World Peace Pagoda) is a major monument here where a small part of the Buddhas relics found in Vaishali have been enshrined.

It is a huge, white, beautiful stupa surrounded by enormous greenery and serenity. Just next to Vishwa Shanti Stupa is Abhishek Pushkarni known as coronation tank and the sacred waters of this tank were used for anointing the elected representatives before their pledge, at the time of Lichchavis.
King Ashoka became a great follower of Buddhism after the massacre of Kalinga and erected his famous Ashoka pillar in Vaishali which was to memorialize the last sermon of Lord Buddha that took place here. It is made of a highly polished single piece of red sandstone, surmounted by a bell shaped capital. There is a life like figure of a lion flawlessly engraved, at the top of the pillar facing north, believed to be the direction of Lord Buddha's last voyage. There is a brick stupa and a small tank here known as Ramkund.

Nalanda University
A UNESCO world heritage site today, Nalanda, once served as the kingdom of mighty Gupta and Harsha rulers. Founded in the 5th century AD, Nalanda, is one of the world’s oldest living cities and is one of the magnificent sites of culture and learning.
It is widely recognised as one of the ancient world’s great universities and an important Buddhist centre of academic excellence. When Chinese scholar and traveler Xuan Zang visited sometime between 685 and 762 AD, about 10,000 monks and students lived here, studying theology, astronomy, metaphysics, medicine and philosophy. The relics of the ancient university are the main attraction in the entire town of Nalanda. In addition to this, beautiful temples also represents the splendid past of Nalanda.

Bihar’s Rajgir is already popular among foreign tourists for its glimpses of ancient India. But despite being popular, tourists are reluctant to stay, hence, some tourist places are being developed to attract visitors. One of these tourist places is Nature Safari where the ‘Glass Sky-walk Bridge’ is attracting eyeballs these days. An official of the forest department said that the safari is spread around a 500 acre forest area. The Glass Sky-walk Bridge has been constructed near the main entrance and is completely built of glass and steel.
He said that the total length of this sky-walk is 85 feet and the width is about 6 feet. Its height is about 250 feet from the valley and a total of 40 visitors can walk on it in one go, though only 10 to 12 people will be able to go to the D sector i.e. the last end. Built at the foothills of Rajgir’s Vaibhar Giri mountain, three 15 mm glass mirrors have been installed on this bridge. The total glass thickness is 45mm, which is completely transparent, due to which it will be quite thrilling to walk on it.

BODHGAYA-The place where Gautama Buddha got Enlightenment.
Bodh Gaya is the place where Gautama Buddha is said to have obtained Enlightenment under what became known as the Bodhi Tree. For Buddhists, Bodh Gaya is the most important of the main four pilgrimage sites, the other three being Kushinagar, Lumbini, and Sarnath.
In 2002, Mahabodhi Temple, located in Bodh Gaya, became a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is Buddhist temple in Bodh Gaya, and has been a major pilgrimage destination for Hindus and Buddhists for well over two thousand years. The temple complex includes two large straight-sided shikhara towers, the largest over 55 metres (180 feet) high. This is a stylistic feature that has continued in Jain and Hindu temples to the present day, and influenced Buddhist architecture in other countries, in forms like the pagoda.

The Giant Buddha Statue
The Giant Buddha Statue is one of the many great tourist spots in Bodh Gaya. The statue is 19.507 m (64.00 ft) high in meditation pose or dhyana mudra seated on a lotus in open air. It took seven years to complete with the help of 12,000 masons. It is a mix of sandstone blocks and red granite. It is possibly the largest built in India and was consecrated on 18 November 1989 by the 14th Dalai Lama.
